Ski-ing in Steamboat Springs
It literally dumps it down with the white stuff in Steamboat Springs which gets around 38 inches (97cm) of snow in the months of December and Jan. That seems like reason enough to get on over to Colorado, strap on and enjoy the slopes before taking a naked midnight dip in one of the numerous natural hot springs in the area. In fact it was these very same hot springs that provided the name to the town, upon first hearing a chugging sound, early trappers believed that a steamboat was coming down the river, after laughing at their own foolishness they named the place ‘steamboat springs’.

Accomodation
Obviously it’s not all about the snow, and hot springs, you need to sleep somewhere also right? We suggest the Rabbit Ears Motel, which has this not scary looking at all rabbit face on it’s sign. And in all it’s rooms. Freaky.
Ok, but more seriously we have prepared a search link for what is available on Airbnb, just click here for Steamboat Airbnb availability.
We’re Supporting Steamboat’s Art Council
The local ladies of Steamboat have put together a calendar in support of the arts council – thank god for art. Here are Nicole, Nicci, Hillary & Jill. Please support the nonprofit arts council at Eleanor Bliss Center located in a 100 year old train station on your visit.

Snowboarders are also well catered for, watch the video below to see some examples of the snow fun park’s you can expect to discover.
Nightlife
Steamboat doesn’t have the craziest of apres ski partying to be had in North America, but here is a list of a few places that you will be able to let your sweaty hair down after some amazing deep snow ski-ing and party like it’s 99:
So the jury is still out, what do you think, leave your comments below. And in the mean time you can see up to date webcam shots of the snow conditions here.
